Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Trade Corporation was established in 1984, which is subordinate to Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group Co., Ltd and is the first provincial foreign trade company with import and export operationon right in Jiangsu Province.In 1985, it was renamed Jiangsu Foreign Trade Company and granted export rights. In 1993, it became the first provincial foreign trade enterprise to be restructured into a joint-stock company, changing its name to Jiangsu Foreign Trade Joint-Stock Company. In 2002, to align with market-oriented operations, it was renamed Jiangsu Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Joint-Stock Company. In 2015, Overseas Group injected capital into the company, increasing its registered capital from 51.38 million yuan to 200 million yuan. Since 2015, the company has focused on its core trade business and gradually developed into three major sectors: metal minerals, agricultural and forestry products, and energy chemicals.

In July 2023, in accordance with the restructuring plan for Jiangsu's state-owned trading enterprises issued by the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, the foreign trade company was incorporated into the newly established SOHO Holdings Group.

In 2019, the company's chromium ore imports ranked first in Jiangsu Province and approximately 25th nationwide. Its manganese ore imports secured the second position in Jiangsu Province and were among the top 50 in China. The company's sheet metal imports also ranked within the national top ten.
